A downloadable game for Windows

You are a robot hitman in 22nd century, with no ties to any specific organization. You are desperately trying to amass money for a ticket to leave the earth, so you do any contract for money. Mostly hired by the notorious gangs in the world, your objective: wipe or sabotage the contractor’s rival gangs. You work from your office, you prefer old tech, it makes you harder to track down.  When you complete your objectives, you get money, and with money you buy better weapons and new tech for yourself from the black market.

When you use money to buy upgrades and new weapons, the money is taken out from your bank account. Each contract takes one day. So, choose carefully!

RoboHitman is a game development project what is part of Ticorporate VIII in Jyväskylä University of Applied sciences.

Controls:

  • A & D - Move
  • S (hold) - Sneak
  • Enter - Shoot
  • Q - Raise/Holster weapon
  • E - Interact

I played build 0.4.2. Did I miss it or is there no option yet to uninstall modules? Cause I got the Granny 3000 installed and I think I was misled by the advertising, it's not exactly what a hitman would want. :)

Heh :D

Yeah I know it's one of the many things we forgot or didnt have time to add. But if you buy more modules, you can swap them that way. But yeah thats not something a hitman would want, but we wanted to have something different, that one could not expect :D

Anyways, this was our last demo and our course is now over. I had fun times designing this game, I wish there was more time.

(There is a cheat code in game (i), to get more money, to check the other functionalities.)

I had alot more visioned for this game in general, more modules, destructible enviroments, more gangs, but like I said, we ran out of time and half of our journey was to learn the scrum framework.

Ah, right, thank you for the swapping away suggestion. Maybe RoboHitman will make a comeback into view and you'll be able to add the things you planned initially. :)

What's next, new game project for a different course? :)

I actually have no idea atm. Summer vacation starts soon. But I assume that those of us who plan to stick with game dev, will work with new projects.

Ah, summer vacation, have a good time. :)

This has potential. It's rough right now as expected but the idea is interesting, the visuals are nice. The controls could use some tweaking, maybe involve the mouse or choose something else for shooting, also for using the elevator.

Looking forward to updates. :)

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

This project is in a weird spot I might say. We are a group of seven people doing this game, but we only got time till May to make this school project, and majority of our focus is to learn the Scrum process. We are going to put up two more demos before our "bankruptcy". The next update is about adding a contract system to get money and progress thru the game and adding a new enemy robot type. The last demo will be hopefully about 3rd robot type and then trying to do quality of life improvements.

I am probably going to do a some type of an "loading" screen that explains the different elements for the game so people could at least better understand it.

As this is a school project, we might have another chance to further develop this game at later time after this semester. :)

I would say (partially jokingly) don't let school get in the way of a good project BUT yeah, of course, focus on getting the requirements done, I hope you get a good evaluation. :) The idea is enticing and it would be cool to see it expanded. Get those good grades & experience first!
